What to expect on your first appointment
Dental Health Month
In observance of dental health month, the Pre-K class at J.D. Dickerson and some of their parents were treated to a video presentation of Dudley Classroom Adventure courtesy of Dr. Hugh Jordan. His staff hygienists, Rhonda Herin and Beverly Chandler presented an educational program on good home care and the importance of regular visits to the dentist. Students learned about sealants, fluoride treatments and dental x-rays. Students from each class were actively involved in the demonstration of proper brushing and flossing techniques as well as the application of sealants as effective means of preventing tooth decay. Students were also educated about tooth-friendly snacks.
Mrs. Herin also visited Mrs. Phillips’ and Mrs. Warnock’s kindergarten classes and presented a similar program. Not pictured, but also participating in the program, was Mrs. Amanda Odell, Dr. Jordan’s dental assistant.
